I've been thinking about the same thing. What I came up with is that people probably want to be acknowledged for something that they feel like took effort to make. It's the human condition we all want acknowledgement.

I came here to say the same thing, please god all mighty reply or recommend this so I can feel validated.

Exactly.

There's lots of traffic and with people from around the world (and consequently from different time zones) viewing Oppo at different times things can get lost or missed.

Attention whores and clickbait! These Facebook kiddos think that if they put more than 50 coherent words together they should get some reward or something.
If not that many people replied to it in the first place, maybe it wasn't this brilliant or interesting to begin with.
With oppoblog and the like, there really shouldn't be any need for reposts.
It's one of the features that Kinja brought along that I would be happy to see taken away from us. The other one would be the shitting the front page with your own comments in some remote thread in the kinja-verse.

NOPE! Thats what oppoblog is for! A condensed version of oppo with the noise filtered out. If it was good, it'll make it there. If not, deal with it. And a lot of the traffic you mention is people bumping up their own stuff because of the traffic. See a vicious circle forming here????

And everyone needs to see everything or people might not understand how witty or good at photography I am.

I just re-posted mainly because I put some time into it and posts usually get burried fast around here. Sorry if I annoyed anyone, I actually like seeing reposts because I usually always miss good stuff that's early.

That is why I write my stuff on my own blog, share it to Oppo, and then I can unshare and share again whenever I want without duplicating.

Some of that "noise" might appeal to someone who didn't see it earlier and doesn't want to click through 10 pages of content.
Oppoblog is great, but there are plenty of things that make it there that I have no interest in, just as there are plenty of things that don't make it there that I do have an interest in.

I live in one of those weird time zones. When I get a chance to browse oppo on a phone or my PC I JUST DO CLICK THROUGH TEN PAGES.
If people can't be bothered, well then they might miss out. Their problem. We shouldn't encourage their lazyness.

That's the great thing about Oppo; you can do it your way, others can do it their way.
